BECOME A VOLUNTEER

Our volunteers are passionate about helping others through their grief journey.

You can volunteer in our peer-to-peer mentoring program (Companioning Program), assist our staff with activities, programs and services or join one of our leadership committees.

Our greatest need for volunteers is in our  Companioning  Program. For more information on how to apply for volunteer opportunities please contact the office at (519) 945-CARE (2273) or complete the Volunteer Registration Form.

  • Training is required for all volunteers at Julien’s House. This ensures that all volunteers gain a thorough understanding of our values and philosophy, along with adequately preparing for various volunteer responsibilities.
  • All volunteers need to be able to demonstrate the traits of compassion, integrity, non-judgmental, adaptability, co-operation, resilience and self-management and want to engage in ongoing learning.
  • A Vulnerable Sector Police Check will be required prior to commencing training.
  • Applicants must commit to an online and an in-class volunteer facilitator training if selected as a successful applicant.

    CONFIDENTIALITY

At Julien’s House we value your involvement and are committed to ensuring that your privacy and confidentiality is respected. All of our volunteers who provide direct services such as companioning and facilitating are trained to ensure the integrity of confidentiality.
